Shannon Wolfe of Magic’s Legacy
- Shannon Wolfe
Herding Dog Demonstrator
Background
Shannon Wolfe of Magic’s Legacy, a stock dog training and handling facility, has been in the business of training herding dogs for nearly 20 years. Shannon’s love affair with animals began with horses and dogs. Years of riding led to the ownership of more than 100 horses and the management of two stables. After attending a sheep-herding clinic for Border Collies, Shannon was struck with a new passion and hasn’t looked back since. In the early 1990’s, Shannon started a full time business, training handlers of various herding breeds and their dogs for sheep herding trials and waterfowl management. Now days, she is a recognized judge for several organizations including AHBA, AKC, the United States Border Collie Handler’s Association and many more. When not training or judging, Shannon can be found on the competition circuit or demonstrating at various events throughout the country. Her enthusiastic approach has led to many of her students becoming accomplished award winners in their own right. Shannon best describes her job as “dancing with dogs” which occurs when you work with your dog as your partner and they bring their skills to match your direction. To Shannon, that is the ultimate joy.
Shannon will be presenting at the Midwest Horse Fair® with topics focusing on using your herding dog to work livestock and training them to work on the farm.
