Nancy Bailey & Clifford
- Clifford & Trainer Nancy Bailey
Talented Horse & Trainer
Background
Trainer Nancy Bailey knows a thing or two about the amazing bond between horse and human. Clifford, Bailey’s house-trained, fetch playing, Morgan has won the hearts of thousands of spectators with his public appearances at festivals, book signings and horse expos over the years.
This talented horse was an undersized, two-year old colt when Bailey first purchased him. Now his abilities are vast and include the ability to sign his book, Clifford of Drummond Island, the real life story of Clifford’s life in Michigan’s Upper Penisula.
Painting with a sponge and watercolors, Clifford is also one of the world's only equine artists. Brave at heart, the gelding even manages on stairways, through automatic doors and many other areas where most horses fear to tread.
Clifford is a regular at libraries, nursing homes, bookstores, and many other public places. He is undoubtedly one of the smartest horses in the world.
Nancy J. Bailey is also author of the Clifford sequel, Return to Manitou. She has also compiled a collection of her equine art, poetry and essays, The Horses Who Inspired Me. Other works include My Best Cat, a murder mystery, and Holding the Ladder, a novel. Nancy is also an award-winning playwright and currently lives in Michigan with the inimitable Clifford.
