Knights of Valour
- Knights of Valour Jousting Troupe
Jousting Troupe
Background
Since 1997, the Knights of Valour Jousting Troupe has been entertaining North American audiences with exciting shows of horsemanship, bravery, and chivalry. Shane Adams, the group’s originator, entered his first competitive tournament at the US International Jousting Championships in Estes Park, Colorado in the late nineties. Although he was riding a borrowed horse and was unfamiliar using the equipment, he rose to the challenge and won the title. Since that momentous win, the troupe has grown from one member to over ten full-contact competitors in 2005. The Knights of Valour Jousting Troupe continues to be the premier full-contact jousting troupe in North America. Jousting is a sport that consists of martial competition between two mounted knights using a variety of weapons and is often done as a part of a tournament.
Be sure to watch this exciting sport of the Middle Ages come to life throughout the weekend!
