Background

Gretchen and Mike Graham are passionate collectors and dealers of antique western gear. Both Colorado natives, they grew up in an area rich in Western history. Each was introduced to Western relics at an early age and their collecting naturally evolved into opening a retail store in Manitou Springs, Colorado. They own and operate Ruxton¹s Trading Post with their border collies, Gus and Mary. The store specializes in antique saddles and spurs as well as cowboy hats and western apparel.

In addition to running the store, Mike writes a monthly column “What’s It Worth” for Western Horseman Magazine. Mike and Gretchen are the authors of the book Old Cowboy Saddles and Spurs, Identifying the Craftsmen Who Made Them, Volume 7. They also are co-authors of the book Colorado Prison Spurs and the Men Who Made Them.

The Grahams produced the Pikes Peak Western Collectible show for seventeen years and continue to avidly attend several specialty antique shows for western memorabilia. Mike and Gretchen have over twenty years experience buying, selling and appraising antique saddles and spurs.
