Background
Aaron Ralston learned early on the importance of being a helpful cowhand. Growing up on a ranch in Colorado and competing in rodeos, Ralston began his career in the horse industry at a young age. Over the years, Ralston’s training expertise has expanded to include reined cow horse (cutting, reining, fence work), ranch horse versatility, and ranch sorting. Ralston not only has a natural feel for the horse, but he also has a gift for teaching riders. He is an extremely diverse horseman with experience in everything from ranch living to competing in the show arena, and coaching riders to performing. He has put his knowledge on paper as the co-author of the book Ride Up.
In 2008, Ralston, along with business partner, Brad Zanin founded Cow Horse Productions which produces the television show “The Ride with Aaron Ralston” on RFD-TV. Ralston readily educates his audience through the television program. He brings this same enthusiasm with him to the numerous equine expos and fairs that he regularly presents at. Ralston is eager to teach others about what he continually learns along “The Ride” from his TV program, clinics, seminars, publications, and performances.
In addition to the various clinics that Ralston holds, he has also been a part of some notable competitions. Ralston proudly represented Team USA in the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany in which he secured an Individual Bronze Medal and a Team Gold Medal in reining.
Ralston continues to operate his horse training business and specializes in reining and roping and contributes to leading equine publications as a columnist. Aaron Ralston currently resides in Colorado with his wife Meg and children.
